(September 5th, 2022)…..Night Two of the 2022 edition of the Outlaw Kart Showcase is in the books and it was a wild night of action that saw it’s fair share of thrills and spills. At the end of the night though, eight drivers in each class punched their tickets into Tuesday Night’s A-Main. The rest will have to try to race their way in on Tuesday evening.
The Open Class saw the #46 of Preston Carr score the victory after charging from the 8th starting position. Carr was able to earn enough points on Monday night to lock his #46 entry into Tuesday’s Main Event. The McClish Motorsports 1m of Colby Copeland started 10th in the feature and wheeled his way up to a 2nd place finish, which also locked him into Tuesday’s A-Main Event. 3rd went to the 60L of Landon Brooks who rebounded from a Heat Race crash and started 18th in the Main Event. Jesse Colwell piloted his #02 entry to a 4th place finish which helped lock him into the Tuesday Feature as well. The Top 5 was rounded out by the #23 of Sean Becker who started 17th.
The 250 Intermediate Class saw North Carolina’s Wyatt Miller Win for the 2nd night in a row. This time Miller piloted his #73 entry to a perfect night as he was Fast Time in his Group, won his Heat Race, and charged from 16th to win! He has earned High Point honors in the 250 Class and is locked into the Feature Event on Tuesday. For the second night in a row the 4k of Khloe Cotton led the Main Event with 2 laps remaining and was unable to secure the victory. This time though she would hold on to finish in the 2nd position which was good enough to secure herself a spot in Tuesday’s Main Event. The 11x of Dustin Snow had a solid showing in the Main Event as he scored a career best 3rd place finish after starting in 9th. 4th & 5th Place finishes went to the Lashley Family as Ethan Lashley piloted his 13e to a 4th place effort & Taylor Lashley wheeled her 14t to a 5th place finish.
The Box Stock A-Main came down to the final lap with Bristol Tarter wrestling the lead away from the #229 of Logan Pike in Turn 1. Tarter would score the victory in her #22 entry after starting 12th, which helped to lock her into Tuesday’s Main Event. Logan Pike started 8th in the Main Event and was able to get to the lead and looked poised to take the win before Tarter came on strong at the end of the race. The 2nd place effort for Pike though was enough to lock him into the Tuesday Night Main sitting 6th in points. Riley Fuchs crossed the stripe in 4th but a DQ in front of him moved him up to the 3rd spot. Fuchs put together a very strong points effort on night two and earned High Point Honors in the Box Stock Class. He is locked into the Tuesday Main Event with a serious shot at a Pole Position starting spot. The 6k of Kade Andes had a great Main Event. After starting 21st in the field he charged all the way up to finish in the 4th position. He missed locking into the Tuesday Main Event by just 2.5 points, but will line up on the Pole of a Qualifier on Tuesday. The 01b of Blayden Graham showed some excellent speed all night long. Graham started 15th in the Main Event and drove to a 5th place finish which was good enough for 3rd overall in points and a lock-in for the Tuesday Night A-Main.
The Caged Clone Main Event was once again a two horse race out front. The 33t of Ty Olivier and the #43 of Nick Lyons went to war for the second straight night. This time though it was Olivier who would come away the victor. It was a great battle between them through lapped traffic but Olivier made the right moves to hold onto the top spot to secure the win. The #43 of Lyons who picked up the win on Sunday Night would settle for the runner up spot in 2nd. Colby Copeland made his Caged Clone debut in the Holly Jones owned #64 machine and wheeled it to a 3rd place finish. Isaac Risch was in the Top 5 once again in his #11 entry with a 4th place finish. Charlotte Simmons completed the Top 5 with a 5th place effort in her #04 entry.
The Finale of the Outlaw Kart Showcase is on deck now as we are set to roll with Hot Laps at 6:30 PM on Tuesday Night. Once Hot Laps are completed, we will roll right into Qualifiers for the Box Stocks, Intermediates, & Opens. Before beginning the Main Events later in the evening! We look forward to seeing everyone out at the track one more time for this years Outlaw Kart Showcase!
