Rylinn Renaud Scores Win #11 of 2017, Shows No Signs of Slowing Down

Rylinn Renaud has had one of the best season’s in recent memory at the Cycleland Speedway in 2017. In thirteen starts, Renaud now has eleven Main Event Wins. Although he has dominated Main Event competition, the Championship is far from wrapped up, as Seth Standley has put together a solid season as well.

When the Green Flag flew on the 20 Lap Main Event, it was young driver Eric Botelho who would lead the way during the opening laps. Botelho had won the Heat Race earlier in the night, earning him the Pole Position for the Main. He would lead until about Lap 5 when Rylinn Renaud came surging to the front of the field. Renaud would take over the lead and not look back as he cruised to his 11th win of the season. Seth Standley put together another solid night as he crossed the line in the second position in his #25. Hank Simmons had another great night as well, as he picked up his sixth top five finish of 2017 in the #95 kart finishing in the third spot. He was also the Hard Charger of the race as he started in the 8th position and improved five positions before the end of the race. Alyssa Foster made just her fourth start of the season and picked up her second top five finish with a fourth-place finish in her #21 kart. Samuel Harper dominated the Beginner Box Class in the first half of the season. Saturday night he made his second Box Stock start and picked up his first career top five finish in the #08H kart. A great run for the up and comer moving into the Box Stock class.

Taking a look at the Points Standings thru 13 races, Rylinn Renaud has now extended his lead to 37 markers in front of second place driver Seth Standley. All it would take is one bad night for Renaud and we would have a great Championship fight on our hands. Rowdy Gramps is a distant third in the standings at 260 points back. Jennifer Osborne sits fourth in points, 324 points behind Renaud for the lead. While Hank Simmons rounds out the top five in fifth, 347 points out of the lead.

Points Race #14 is on tap this Saturday night, July 29th, 2017. Hot Laps for the Open Cars are scheduled to hit the track at 5:30 PM. That will be followed immediately by Qualifying for all classes.
